Golf 2017

Once again we hosted the Bob Colvin Memorial Golf Tournament at Belmont Golf Course in Langley.  The day started out with some very light showers that let up by about noon to make way for a warm overcast afternoon, which prevented any sunburns this year.  We want to extend a thank you to Belmont for hosting us again this year and providing a wonderful steak dinner for all the participants.  The event seems to be growing in popularity, so make sure you get signed up right away next year to prevent being turned away.

The KP’s at this year’s tournament were holes #5 and #12 won by Gary McLean and Mark Genereux respectively.  The LD’s at #6 and #18 were won by Shawn Birdsell and Tyler Gair respectively.  The winners of this year’s tournament, with a score of 67, were Orest Strayski and Gary McLean, who each took home a Local 280 Golf Bag.

Door prizes this year were provided by MNP, SMACNA, Ridge Sheet Metal, Allied Blower, Bollman Roofing, Apollo Sheet Metal, Viaduct Sheet Metal, Keith Panel Systems and Ellett Industries.

On behalf of our Business Manager-Financial Secretary Treasurer Jim Paquette, Assistant Business Manager Dan Burroughs as well as Business Representatives Ken Elworthy and myself, Richard Mangelsdorf, we would like to thank all those that helped us with prizes and everyone for coming out to play a round of golf with our fellow Local 280 Brothers. A special thanks to retired Business Representative Greg Mooney for volunteering to help out with the tournament.

We hope to see you all again next year.
