ROCKET TAKES FLIGHT ONCE AGAIN

RESTORATION OF THE ROCKET - 2007

The Local Union No. 280 Centennial Rocket takes flight once again.  Due to the ongoing construction of the RAV line down the Cambie Street corridor, it was necessary to temporarily remove the Centennial Rocket from its resting place for the past 20 years.  Local Union No. 280 signatory contractor Quest Metal Works Ltd. and Dave Russell have agreed to store the Rocket while the RAV construction takes place.  During this time it will allow for the refurbishment as 20 years of weather does take its toll.

The present plan is to return the rocket to its Cambie Street location once all construction is complete, however it may have a temporary location if it is feasible.

Thanks go to Dave Russell and Quest Metal Works Ltd. for agreeing to store and assist in the refurbishment of this valuable piece of Local Union No. 280 history.
